Western Alliance Bank seeks a Vice President, Portfolio Manager – Lender Finance to analyze, underwrite, and coordinate closing of large corporate loans and structured products around $25M+. You will work with Directors and MDs to monitor credit risks and coordinate with the loan committee for approvals.

You’ll gather information with Originators, prepare supporting materials, and help solve problems in your portfolio. A growth team and substantial AUM support a robust credit platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 6+ years of portfolio management or related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of fixed income investing.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring; credit analyst training completed.
• Strong written and spoken communication; Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze portfolio investment performance and provide buy/hold/sell recommendations.
• Prepare portfolio scorecards and assess collateral values.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans per agreement and lending policies.
• Support underwriting, portfolio management and ongoing loan portfolio activities.

Job Title:

Vice President, Portfolio Manager- Lender Finance

What you'll do:

As Vice President, Portfolio Manager - Lender Finance you'll be responsible for analyzing, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of large corporate loans & structured products ($25mm+). The Portfolio Manager will work with Directors and MD's to ensure credit risks are monitored and identified. Join a growing team of 20 with $10B of AUM.

Gather and analyze necessary information to present along with Originators, to Senior Management or Loan Committee for approval.

• * Analyze portfolio investment performance for buy/hold/sell recommendations
• * Prepare portfolio scorecards and recommend marks on collateral
• * Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; assist in solving problems in your portfolio.
• * Handle various other underwriting, portfolio management and upkeep tasks and responsibilities related to new loan requests and/or portfolio.

What you'll need:

• 6+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of Fixed Income investing.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring. Credit analyst training completed.
• Advanced speaking, excel and writing communication skills.
• Progress toward or completion of CFA

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $139,530.00 - $172,360.00 for Los Angeles, CA. Salary range for new hires is generally $139,530.00 - $172,360.00 for San Diego, CA. Salary range for new hires is generally $148,830.00 - $183,850.00 for New York, NY. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
