About the Role

Our client, a reputable asset management firm, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Portfolio Manager to lead their equity investment strategies from Welkom, Free State. This critical role involves managing a diverse portfolio of equity assets, making strategic investment decisions to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns for clients. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth market research, analyzing economic indicators, identifying investment opportunities, and managing portfolio risk. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of equity markets, advanced analytical skills, and a proven track record of successful portfolio management. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive equity investment strategies aligned with client objectives and risk tolerance.
• Conduct in-depth fundamental and quantitative analysis of companies and industries.
• Monitor market trends, economic conditions, and geopolitical events impacting equity markets.
• Make informed investment decisions regarding asset allocation, security selection, and portfolio rebalancing.
• Manage portfolio risk through diversification, hedging strategies, and continuous monitoring.
• Meet regularly with clients (virtually) to review portfolio performance and provide investment recommendations.
• Collaborate with research analysts and economists to gather insights and support investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal investment policies.
• Prepare detailed performance reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging investment themes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications like CFA are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in portfolio management, equity research, or investment analysis.
• Proven track record of managing equity portfolios and achieving strong performance against benchmarks.
• Deep understanding of equity markets, financial statement analysis, and valuation methodologies.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and investment management software.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies.
