Job summary

First Bank seeks a Portfolio Manager to maximize client experience and grow client relationships. You will understand bank products, manage loan portfolios, and coordinate with Commercial Sales and Relationship Managers to service loans and expand deposits.

The role is full-time and in-office, with standard hours. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and at least two years in financial services is expected; strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Uncovers client needs and makes recommendations after understanding bank products and services
• Conducts weekly meetings with Commercial Sales Manager to manage loans in pipeline and client needs
• Communicates with clients and third parties to obtain information/documentation
• Supports Relationship Managers and Mortgage Officers with loan origination and portfolio management
• Develops relationships with clients and serves as primary contact for loan servicing and admin matters
• Performs research to support pre-call planning for existing and prospective clients
• Monitors loan portfolio quality and communicates findings to RM as applicable
• Updates renewal credits write-up with company history and current operations
• Identifies opportunities to deepen deposit relationships using financial statements or tax returns
• Adheres to company policies and completes required BSA and compliance training
• Performs other duties as assigned

The Portfolio Manager helps the bank to fulfill its vision by by maximizing the client experience and expanding client relationships

Duties and Responsibilities

• Through a deep understanding of bank products and services, uncovers needs and makes recommendations to clients and prospects.
• Conducts weekly meetings with Commercial Sales Manager to manage loans in pipeline, past due loans, maturing loans, exceptions, and client needs.
• Communicates with clients and third parties to ensure all information/documentation is received.
• Provides excellent internal customer service by assisting Relationship Managers and Mortgage Officers completing administrative tasks related to origination of new loans and ongoing management of portfolio.
• Develops and builds relationships with clients and serves as primary contact for clients for loan servicing and administrative matters.
• Assists with pre-call plan preparation for existing clients and prospective clients through internal and external research.
• Ensures quality of loan portfolio through report monitoring and tracking and communicating findings to designated RM when applicable.
• Updates company history, current operations, and management portion of the write up on renewal credits.
• Using tax returns or financial statements, identifies opportunities to deepen deposit relationships.
• Protects the bank and clients by following company policies and procedures and completing required BSA and compliance courses.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

• Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00 (Additional hours may be required for company meetings or training.)
• Job Arrangement: Full-time, permanent
• Travel Requirement: The job may requires for training and other work-related duties.
• Remote Work: The job role is primarily in-person. A personal or work crisis could prompt the role to become temporarily remote.
• Physical Effort: May require sitting for prolonged periods. Requires standing for periods of time for filing.
