Job summary

Associated Bank in Omaha is seeking a Commercial Banking Associate to manage a portfolio of relationships, support credit decisions, and monitor risk while growing loans and deposits. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Less than 2 years of experience in Commercial/Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Specialized Banking, or Credit Approval.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive, if applicable, by the start date.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information and loan requests to assess credit quality and recommend appropriate structures.
• Manage portfolio risk and ensure relationships follow bank policies, procedures, business strategies, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor borrower financial performance, loan repayment activity, renewals, and overall credit quality.
• Partner with Relationship Managers to serve clients, support new business opportunities, and strengthen existing relationships.
• Coordinate due diligence and credit analysis for new relationships and prepare materials for the loan approval process.
• Identify opportunities to connect clients with Treasury Management, Private Banking, Capital Markets, and other bank solutions.
• Support collection efforts and take appropriate action when accounts become past due or repayment concerns arise.
• Represent Associated Bank in community and business activities that strengthen its presence in the local market.

In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of commercial banking relationships by supporting credit decisions, monitoring risk, and strengthening client relationships. Education & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Less than 2 years of experience in Commercial/Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Specialized Banking, or Credit Approval.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive, if applicable, by the start date.

Preferred

• Less than 2 years of experience handling complex credits.

• Less than 2 years of sales experience.

• Less than 2 years of formal credit training.

• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification by the start date.
