East West Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager for the Healthcare Finance specialty lending group. The role focuses on underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management across healthcare finance opportunities.

You will analyze financial data, determine loan structures, and collaborate with Relationship Managers to grow cross-sell opportunities. Required are 5–8 years in commercial banking with strong credit policy knowledge; healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Overview

East West Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager for the Healthcare Finance specialty lending group responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management. Primary responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommending structure, as well as identifying cross selling/referring opportunities of other services.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, manage, and structure commercial lending transactions including lines of credit, asset-based lending facilities, commercial real estate loans, and cash flow-based transactions according to the Bank establish guidelines and policies
• Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow, collateral, industry trends, and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness and recommend appropriate loan structures
• Determine the merits of specific loan requests and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationship
• Assist with due diligence/analysis with new client relationships and opportunity memos as appropriate
• Working knowledge of ABL revolvers including evaluation of borrowing bases, field exams, and collateral monitoring
• Maintain responsibility for the overall credit quality, documentation, and risk management of assigned portfolio relationships
• Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, collateral coverage, and risk ratings to identify emerging credit concerns and recommend appropriate actions
• Partner with the Relationship Manager as the key point of contact for the client
• Manage the amendment and renewal process in partnership with clients, Relationship Managers, Credit, and other internal business partners
• Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship follows established EWB credit policy, procedures, and business strategy
• As appropriate, assist in the development of junior bankers, credit analysts, and relationship associates
• Perform other administrative duties required for the maintenance of a portfolio of clients
• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field; or a combination of education and directly related experience
• 5-8 years of commercial banking, credit analysis, portfolio management, and underwriting
• Formal credit training is a plus
• Healthcare experience preferred, but not required
• Demonstrates strong underwriting and projection skills
• Has strong understanding of credit policy and procedures and is able to accurately risk-rate loans/credits, evaluates both cashflow and collateral-based loans/credits
• Has strong knowledge base in Treasury, FX and Derivative products and have demonstrated abilities in coordinating the resources of the bank to bring effective full-service solutions to the company
• Excellent presentation, verbal & written communication skills

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
