Ballentine Partners is a leading independent wealth management firm seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our Investments team in the Boston area. You will develop investment strategy and collaborate with Senior Client Advisors on portfolio management for a diverse client base.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in investment management, a Bachelor's degree, and a Series 65 license (with firm support if needed).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in investment management/financial services.
• Series 65 license required (or will be supported).
• Meaningful progress toward the CFA designation preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the investment group and contribute to investment strategy.
• Work directly with clients to develop investment strategy and portfolio management.
• Provide direction and leadership to client service teams.
• Finalize Investment Policy Statements (IPS) for clients.
• Serve as lead advisor on G2 and G3 clients.
• Handle day-to-day calls and meetings for G1 clients.
• Mentor Portfolio Analysts and Portfolio Associates.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ballentine Partners is looking for an enthusiastic Portfolio Manager to join our growing Investments team. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing investment strategy and working with Senior Client Advisors and Senior Investment Advisors on portfolio management for clients.

• Contributing to the leadership of the investment group
• Working directly with clients to develop and provide advice on investment strategy and portfolio management
• Providing direction and investment leadership to client service teams
• Finalizing Investment Policy Statements (IPS) for clients
• Serving as the lead advisor on many of the G2 and G3 clients
• Significantly contributing to G1 clients by handling most of the day-to-day calls and regular meetings
• Mentoring Portfolio Analysts and Portfolio Associates
• Other duties as assigned.

• Possess strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and senior stakeholders.
• Have the ability to interface with clients with all knowledge levels and provide investment advice involving complex solutions.
• Take a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, conducting independent research, anticipating issues, and proposing thoughtful solutions.
• Be highly organized and able to manage competing priorities, take direction from multiple team members, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively across teams, with a positive and collegial attitude.
• Demonstrate sound professional judgment, discretion, and high standards of integrity.
• Demonstrates advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build and analyze financial models.
• Be comfortable learning and using investment software, CRM systems, and other technology tools.
• Show a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and achieving positive outcomes for clients.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Meaningful progress toward the CFA designation is preferred. This position requires Series 65 license which will be supported by Ballentine Partners if the right candidate does not have this licensing.

Minimum of five years of relevant experience in investment management and/or financial services.

Ballentine Partners compensation is made up of a base salary and performance bonus. The salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $160,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. Performance bonuses are based upon company and personal performance and are paid annually.
