Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial underwriting and portfolio management experience.

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents; performs simple to complex calculations; researches, analyzes and evaluates information to make decisions, solve problems and achieve goals.
• Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information in a clear and understandable manner with senior executives, management, regulators and partners.
• Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the analysis, underwriting, origination, and portfolio management of loans in a growing commercial and corporate portfolio.
• Utilizing loan structuring, risk identification, and risk mitigation skills.
• Understanding and application of the Bank’s risk grading methodology and credit appetite.
• Managing complex relationships with C&I and CRE borrowers and Relationship Managers; developing lending proposals and cross-sell opportunities.
• Oversight of post-approval due diligence requirements and commercial loan documentation.
• Building and maintaining a portfolio of high-value clients while ensuring credit quality and servicing standards.
• Mentoring junior team members and delegating tasks related to origination and servicing.

SUMMARY

The Commercial Portfolio Manager partners with local Relationship Managers and to provide daily credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management support for assigned commercial and corporate borrowers.

Tasks are completed in a fast-paced, production-based environment and include leading the loan structuring, underwriting, origination, and servicing responsibilities for their assigned loan portfolio.

The incumbent works independently with support from other members of the team, providing mentoring and guidance to junior members of the portfolio management team and working closely with Credit Analysts. The ideal candidate works well in a team-focused setting and is comfortable balancing competing priorities in a deadline driven environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Leading the analysis, underwriting, origination, and portfolio management of loans in a growing commercial and corporate portfolio.
• Utilizing loan structuring, risk identification, and risk mitigation skills
• Understanding and application of the Bank’s risk grading methodology and credit appetite
• Managing complex relationships and ability to understand both C&I and income-producing real estate (CRE) borrowers.
• Partnering with Relationship Managers to call on current or potential clients; understands and identifies needs for commercial products and services; develops lending proposals; identifies cross-sell opportunities.
• Oversight of post-approval due diligence requirements and commercial loan documentation preparation.
• Building and maintaining a portfolio mix of targeted high value and high potential clients, ensuring credit quality and portfolio servicing are maintained in an acceptable manner.
• Partnering with junior members of the commercial team to delegate tasks related to the origination and servicing of the loan portfolio.
• Providing feedback and guidance in order to develop the skills of these teammates.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
