Thompson Pipe Group seeks a Portfolio Grounds Operations Lead (Texas) to oversee multi-site landscape maintenance, lead crews, and coordinate irrigation and safety across company locations. The role blends hands-on landscape work with team leadership and vendor coordination to maintain appearance and compliance.

You will plan mowing, pruning, fertilization, and seasonal plantings while ensuring OSHA safety and efficient operations, reporting to leadership, and supporting budget and vendor

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in commercial landscape maintenance.
• Supervisory or crew leadership background preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile communication apps.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsabilités

• Direct multi-site landscape maintenance across Texas for commercial and company locations.
• Lead and coach landscape crews and contractors; ensure safety and quality standards.

Great properties tell a story before anyone walks in the door. As the Portfolio Grounds Operations Lead (Texas), you'll write that story every day. You'll combine hands-on landscape work with team leadership and vendor coordination to maintain high standards for appearance, irrigation performance, and safety across commercial and company-owned sites.

Your mission

Protect curb appeal. Prevent hazards. Deliver consistency. You'll create plans that ensure lawns, beds, and trees are healthy year-round; you'll guide crews to execute efficiently; and you'll uphold safety and compliance so every visit is worry-free.

How you'll make it happen

• Operational control across Texas: Direct multi-site landscape maintenance for commercial and company locations.
• Quality assurance: Conduct frequent site assessments for appearance standards, safety, and irrigation functionality.
• Programmatic scheduling: Build calendars for mowing, trimming, edging, fertilization, weed management, irrigation, and seasonal plantings.
• Care of exterior spaces: Keep grounds, parking lots, walkways, and common areas clean, tidy, and risk-free.
• Irrigation reliability: Track performance, identify issues, and arrange prompt repairs.
• Seasonal workstreams: Lead color rotations, tree pruning, mulch installations, and storm-response operations.

Lead the team

• Supervise landscape crews and contractors with clear daily direction.
• Coach, train, and evaluate performance to foster teamwork, accountability, and safety.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new hires.

Safety, compliance, and records

• Model and enforce company safety policies.
• Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.
• Conduct safety huddles and equipment inspections; document incidents, repairs, and maintenance activity.

Steward budgets and partnerships

• Support budget creation and cost management for landscape operations.
• Monitor inventories of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate specialty vendors and contractors; verify work against contract terms and approve invoices.

What sets you up for success

• High school diploma or GED; further training in horticulture, landscaping, or facilities preferred.
• 3-5 years in commercial landscape maintenance.
• Supervisory or crew leadership background preferred.
• Expertise in irrigation, plant health, turf care, and landscape equipment.
• Exceptional organization, communication, and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile communication apps.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical expectations & work setting

• Work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Safely operate landscape machinery and vehicles.
• Field-based role across multiple commercial properties.
• Occasional evenings/weekends and emergency support during severe weather events.

Preferred capabilities

• Experience managing vendors and contracts.
