Position Overview

The Portfolio Finance & Reporting team is responsible for ensuring the appropriate funding of numerous investment vehicles operated by the firm, maintaining third-party financing relationships, and reporting assorted metrics to internal and external audiences. The team monitors liquidity of each of the firm's investment vehicles, tracks their various financing facilities, and reports both current and projected liquidity to senior management and various trading desks. Other responsibilities include ad hoc reporting requests from senior management, trading desks, business development and investor relations.

The team interacts with fund accounting, portfolio managers, operations, legal and prime brokerage personnel daily and is an integral part of the firm's internal control and management reporting framework.

The role offers exposure to a wide variety of work: additional key responsibilities for portfolio finance staff include negotiating counterparty documents and monitoring margin, financing, and stock loan terms. As such, the individual will be expected to acquire in-depth knowledge of prime broker margin and financing rules across a range of methodologies. The team is also responsible for cultivating relationships with external parties to help secure financing at either the investment vehicle or asset level. While monitoring liquidity and margin, portfolio finance staff also maintain several systems that generate critical information used across the firm.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain forward-looking models that project fund-level cash flows and liquidity needs — including the new deal pipeline, capital calls and distributions, asset lifecycle events, operating expenses and financing costs — to inform deployment strategy
• Work with portfolio managers to track the pipeline of potential financing opportunities in the portfolio
• Manage FX hedging processes across the firm’s investment portfolio
• Participate in calls with external financing providers and assist with preparation for counterparty credit calls
• Monitor margin calls, collateral postings and available liquidity across counterparties
• Maintain internal margin calculations and coordinate the setup of new accounts and related margin terms, as well as changes to existing accounts
• Monitor stock loan reporting tools and assist trading desks with stock loan needs
• Prepare recurring internal reporting and support external reporting requirements
• Perform ad hoc analysis and special project work supporting information requests, system enhancements and new product launches

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance or Accounting with strong academic performance
• 1-5 years of experience in the financial services or banking industries with relevant experience in margin, funding, or treasury preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications with emphasis on Excel

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $130,000 USD. The actual base salary will depend upon the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, business needs and market. This role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and if awarded is based on a variety of factors including firm and individual performance.
