Job summary

Parsons seeks a Portfolio Director for Air and Space Force Programs to lead a diverse portfolio serving U.S. Air Force and Space Force customers, including large IDIQs and multi-award contracts.

You will ensure successful delivery, fiscal performance, and strong client relationships across missions. You will collaborate with program managers and cross-functional teams to drive delivery excellence, manage risks, and pursue growth opportunities through recompetes and contract expansions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 20+ years of experience managing federal defense programs, contracts, or portfolios.
  • Experience overseeing large IDIQ, task order-based, or multi-program contracts.
  • Strong understanding of federal contracting and client management.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives in complex environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Job Description:

The Portfolio Director, Air and Space Force Programs provides strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of programs supporting the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, including large IDIQ, task order, and multi-award contract vehicles. This role is responsible for overseeing program execution, portfolio performance, client relationships, compliance, and resource alignment across a range of Air and Space Force customers and missions.

The Portfolio Director works closely with program managers, technical leaders, operations, contracts, finance, and business development teams to ensure successful delivery and sustained portfolio growth. This position serves as a senior leader accountable for delivery excellence, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and strategic expansion across Air and Space Force accounts.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of Air Force and Space Force programs and contract vehicles.
  • Ensure successful execution of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and compliance requirements including proactive management of changes in project scope, requirements, and client priorities.
  • Manage portfolio financial performance, including revenue, forecasting, margin, and resource planning with a focus on assessing and communicating the financial impacts of change to management.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with Air Force, Space Force, and related stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to program managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve performance issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support business growth through recompetes, task order pursuits, and on-contract expansion opportunities leveraging change management best practices to adapt to new business opportunities and market conditions.
  • Coordinate with contracts, finance, operations, and business development teams to ensure portfolio success.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 20+ years of experience managing federal defense programs, contracts, or portfolios.
  • Experience overseeing large IDIQ, task order-based, or multi-program contracts supporting Air Force, Space Force, or other DoD customers.
  • Strong understanding of federal contracting, program delivery, and client management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, financial management, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives in complex, multi-program environments.
  • Ability to drive organizational and project-level change, including stakeholder engagement, communication, and training.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
