The Citi Wealth Chief Investment Office’s Portfolio Construction & Analytics team in New York seeks a Senior Portfolio Specialist to translate global investment views into client-specific portfolio construction and analytics.

You will conduct bespoke asset allocation, risk analytics, and quantitative modeling, collaborating with client-facing teams to deliver tailored investments with a focus on Latin America market priorities and regulatory requirements.

Job description

The Portfolio Construction & Analytics team is an integral part of the Citi Wealth Chief Investment Office (CIO), dedicated to delivering comprehensive, analytical, and highly customized investment strategies with specific actionable solutions across different Citi Wealth client segments. The position is responsible for delivering client‑centric investment advice and analytics, contributing to the strategic objectives of the Latin America region and supporting the broader Citi Wealth CIO investment framework.

Our approach to work with clients on achieving their investment objective, and translating the CIO's global investment views into sophisticated, client‑specific implementation plans — drawing on the best global thinking and customizing it to the needs of each client's particular situation. The Senior Portfolio Specialist will have the opportunity to conduct bespoke asset allocation, portfolio optimization and construction, risk identification, fund and capital market strategies, and statistical modeling. Innovation remains a cornerstone of the team's approach. The team is responsible for three key areas:

• Insights – Articulation and implementation of Citi Wealth CIO global and regional themes, translating investment views into actionable portfolio construction solutions for clients.
• Customized Analytics – Provision of client‑specific analytics and recommendations based upon clients' needs and portfolio holdings, covering assets and liabilities.
• Scalable Analytics – Supporting the ideation and field expansion of self‑service analytical tools that enable client‑facing teams to independently generate portfolio analytics, broadening the reach and impact of the CIO investment framework.

This position would suit a proactive, energetic and quantitatively oriented investment professional with an analytical mindset and the ability to communicate complex solutions to clients clearly.

Responsibilities

Analysis & Advice

• Translate Citi Wealth CIO global and regional investment views into concrete portfolio construction recommendations and client‑facing analytics.
• Consistently work towards developing innovative solutions, tools, and frameworks for the Citi Wealth CIO investment organization.
• Design customized asset allocation strategies for clients' portfolios using proprietary models and tools. Comprehensive investment strategies may be multi‑asset class or within a single asset class and can incorporate a client's total balance sheet and cash flow needs, including philanthropy goals and generational transfer requirements.
• Perform in‑depth analysis on individual investment products, strategies, and portfolios across asset classes.
• Perform statistical modeling across asset classes, including building in‑house applications that allow insights to be scaled across the investment organization.
• Develop objective, actionable proposals for clients.
• Interact with clients to present and discuss portfolio analysis and investment proposals. Discuss and educate others – internally and externally – on work topics openly and confidently.
• Contribute to the ideation, design, and field expansion of scalable, self‑service analytical tools, to ensure CIO investment views and portfolio construction methodologies are effectively embedded and accessible to client‑facing teams across the region.
• Partner with regional leadership to identify and address Latin America market‑specific strategic priorities, delivering tailored outputs – such as educational content, portfolio diagnostic tools, client‑facing materials, or targeted analytics – that reflect the unique needs and behaviors of each market and support the region's agenda.

Other

• Inclusive investment and portfolio positioning and/or research, liaising with regional and global counterparts across Citi Wealth and Citi as a whole.
• Participate in the development, education and rollout of global initiatives, analytical tools and methods.
• Consistently follow and support regulatory policies.

Experience and Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Modern Portfolio Theory, asset allocation techniques, portfolio simulation, risk analytics, financial markets and investment strategies.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets and Managed Investment products including derivatives and alternative investments.
• Knowledge with financial modelling (including Monte Carlo simulation, optimization, and regression) and statistical analysis tools.
• Soft skills include a can‑do attitude, sense of ownership and a team‑player approach.
• Education: Master’s Degree / PhD Degree in Finance, Engineering or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal / written) to all levels.
• Fluency in Portuguese (verbal / written).
• Travel: 30%+.
• Series 7, 66 or 63 and 65.
• Must meet ALL US FINRA Registration requirements within 150 days of starting in the role.

Desirable

• Any additional languages.
• Previous investments experience with high and ultra‑high net worth individuals.
• CFA, CAIA, FRM designation or progress towards these.
• Knowledge of credit products, lendable values or Investment Finance.
