Job summary

Koppers Inc. is seeking a Portfolio & Value Manager in Pittsburgh to support portfolio governance, value tracking, and decision making.

You will ensure consistency of data, analysis, and coordination across initiatives under the IT PMO, administering intake, evaluation, prioritization, reporting, and governance processes. Responsibilities include defining and tracking benefits, preparing dashboards, and highlighting risks or variances to IT PMO leadership.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 6 years of experience supporting portfolio management, program management, PMO operations, or related governance functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or Business preferred.
  • Excellent MS Office Suite skills including CoPilot, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, and Visio.
  • Strong analytical ability to consolidate data and translate into actionable insights.
  • Experience preparing dashboards, executive reporting, or portfolio materials.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and teams.
  • Familiarity with project governance, benefits tracking, risk management and change control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to present to business and technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of portfolio prioritization methods or value management.
  • Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Minimal travel (0% to 10%) required.

Responsibilities

  • Support portfolio governance and value tracking by maintaining portfolio processes, performance reporting, and benefits transparency.
  • Enable informed decision-making by providing consistent data, analysis, and coordination across initiatives under the IT PMO.
  • Administer portfolio intake, evaluation, prioritization, reporting, and governance processes in alignment with IT PMO standards.
  • Support definition, documentation, and ongoing tracking of initiative benefits and expected value realization.
  • Collaborate with initiative owners to validate inputs, identify gaps, and elevate risks or variances that may affect portfolio outcomes.
  • Prepare portfolio dashboards and reports covering initiative status, milestones, spend, risks, dependencies, capacity, demand, and value metrics.
  • Coordinate governance activities such as stage gates, portfolio reviews, approvals, change tracking, and documentation reviews.
  • Maintain portfolio artifacts, including demand lists, scoring inputs, funding views, status reports, risk registers, dependency views, and value tracking data.
  • Highlight trends, variances, and emerging issues to IT PMO leadership to support timely decisions and corrective actions.
  • Maintain portfolio-level views of demand, capacity, and cross-initiative dependencies to support sequencing and resource planning.
  • Serve as a day-to-day IT PMO coordination point for initiative owners, program managers, and functional partners.
  • Reinforce adoption of IT PMO tools, templates, cadences, and ways of working through guidance, follow-up, and consistent communication.

  • Experience preparing dashboards, executive reporting, status summaries, or portfolio performance materials.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and functional teams in a structured and disciplined manner.
  • Familiarity with project governance, benefits tracking, risk management, dependency management and change control practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to both business and technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of portfolio prioritization methods, benefits realization frameworks, or value management practices
  • Ability to prioritize work based on urgency with minimal supervision
  • Minimal travel (0% to 10%) required
