Job summary

PNC is seeking a Portfolio Analytics & Strategy Analyst Senior in Pittsburgh, PA to design data pipelines, model outcomes, and deliver actionable analytics for risk and portfolio decisions. You will work across business, credit, data, and IT teams, using Python, SQL, dashboards, and cloud platforms in an Agile setting.

The role emphasizes governance, testing, and communicating complex results to stakeholders while contributing to strategic initiatives and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Design and develop data pipelines and analytics using Python, Hadoop, and Spark (PySpark).
• Proficient SQL with complex joins, window functions, performance tuning, and data quality validation.
• Experience designing dashboards with Tableau/Power BI/Elastic Stack.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and distributed systems.
• Configure and maintain business rules engines like FICO PowerCurve or Experian.
• Develop, test, and maintain APIs.
• Active participation in Agile ceremonies and sprints.
• Work with Swagger, Kafka schemas, JSON Schema, XML, and XSD.
• Experience testing services with Postman/SoapUI.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence.
• Perform data validation pre- and post-deployment using Hadoop and monitoring tools.
• Able to communicate technical results clearly to business and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Leverage domain knowledge to analyze large datasets, improve risk-adjusted returns, and communicate actionable insights.
• Apply predictive models and external data to drive portfolio strategies and risk management.
• Collaborate with business, credit, data, and model development teams to design and monitor tests and reporting.
• Create and enhance standard reporting suites for regular product and portfolio reviews.
• Partner with Finance and Risk to set risk appetite and governance policies.

Job Description

• Provides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. Responsible for running complex business performance, risk and operational analytics. May include the development of analytical methods/models to assess market, credit and/or operational risk of new and existing financial products.
• Leverages business / product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions. Synthesizes analytical results and develops, recommends, and implements business strategies that improve lending decisions, assist in managing risk, increase revenues, reduce exposure to losses, meet business goals, and improve performance. Establishes baselines for strategies and tracks actual performance to expectations.
• Applies predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies to provide insight into portfolio risk. Manages engagements with internal and external information suppliers ensuring solution is fit for purpose while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.
• Works with business, credit, data, and model development partners to design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting to track and enhance strategies. Designs / enhances standard reporting suites for regular product / portfolio reviews.
• Collaborates with the line of business, Finance, and Risk partners to assess and establish credit risk appetite and to understand its implications, as well as to establish policies and procedures governing the identification, monitoring, and management of risk appetite.
