Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to support Credit & Portfolio Management for commercial real estate loan monitoring in San Diego. You will analyze financial statements, track covenants, collect critical portfolio data, and maintain credit files for timely decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 1+ year’s experience in underwriting, structuring, or portfolio management of commercial real estate transactions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in client relations and process improvement.
• Strong business writing ability.
• Manual dexterity and coordination for operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse, calculator, telephone, copiers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support managing the loan portfolio within the Real Estate Lender Finance Group.
• Conduct day‑to‑day duties including financial statement analysis, covenant tracking, gathering essential portfolio data, and maintaining credit files.
• Author credit memoranda for presentation to management to process loan upsizes, credit amendments, and update loan risk ratings.
• Lead implementation of process improvements, author procedures, and write job aids documenting the day‑to‑day responsibilities of Portfolio Analysts.
• Understand the credit culture and risk tolerance outlined by senior management and the Board, and help mitigate potential threats to the safety and soundness of the loan portfolio.
• Manage multiple workflows and adapt to changing demands to meet business objectives.

Position Summary

The Portfolio Analyst supports Credit & Portfolio Management by working with commercial borrowers and the portfolio management team to monitor loans.

Compensation and Bonuses

Target Range: $22.00/hr – $26.00/hr. Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education. Eligible for an annual discretionary cash bonus target of 5% and an annual discretionary restricted stock units bonus target of 5%, both potentially awarded semi‑annually based on performance.
