Position Summary

As a Portfolio Analyst on the Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) team at TCW, you will play a key role in supporting the investment process and client communications across a range of structured credit and securitized asset classes. Working closely with portfolio managers and senior analysts, you’ll contribute to investment analysis, performance tracking, risk management, and client reporting.

This role offers a strong foundation in ABF and may serve as a pathway to future opportunities within the investment team or as a product specialist. It is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to deepen their knowledge of complex credit markets.

Essential Duties

1. Support lead PMs in developing internal and external ABF-related content, including marketing decks, white papers, DDQs, and investment memos.
2. Coordinate with internal sales, operational, legal, and marketing teams on all ABF-related activities.
3. Assist lead PMs with portfolio monitoring, reporting, and trading activities.
4. Engage with sell-side counterparts and internal securitized product teams to monitor deal flow.
5. Develop understanding of individual positions and contribute to team discussions.
6. Gain broad exposure to public and private structured product investing across multiple vehicle types.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of direct structured finance banking or research experience.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel modeling.
• Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Commitment to a two-year tenure in the role.

Desired Qualifications

• Coding background and Intex knowledge are a plus.

Estimated Compensation

Base Salary: For NY-based positions, the range is $120k - $130k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
