Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, economics, or related field.
  • CFA designation (preferred).
  • 1–2 years of trading experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Discretion and client confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Executes and allocates trades across custodians with Portfolio Managers, Investment Advisors, and the Asset Allocation Committee.
  • Completes post-trade issue resolution.
  • Monitors portfolio drift and rebalances to align with objectives and strategies.
  • Processes ongoing tax loss harvesting.
  • Assists Investment Advisors with transitioning accounts to internal models.
  • Contributes to business development by creating synthetic portfolios from prospect statements.
  • Coordinates internal action across multiple teams.
  • Contributes to optimizing workflows within Portfolio Analysis Team.

Job description

FLP delivers sophisticated planning, investment management, research, wealth management, and family office services to a range of individuals and families, institutional investors, and single and multi-family offices. We bring a broad range of products and solutions, tailoring our advice to meet clients' needs.

The Portfolio Analyst manages trading processes for the investment team and ensures optimized workflows. The Portfolio Analyst is an active member of the Portfolio Analysis Team, and collaborates across multiple teams.

This role can be based in the following Massachusetts locations: Lynnfield, Needham, or Boston.

Portfolio Analyst Duties:
  • Executes and allocates trades across various custodians in collaboration with Portfolio Managers, Investment Advisors, and the Asset Allocation Committee
  • Completes post-trade issue resolution
  • Continually monitors portfolio drift; periodically rebalances to ensure alignment with account objectives, asset allocation, and strategies
  • Processes ongoing tax loss harvesting
  • Assists Investment Advisors with transitioning accounts to internal models
  • Contributes to business development by creating synthetic portfolios based on prospect statements
  • Adheres to guidelines established by the Implementation Committee
  • Coordinates internal action across multiple teams
  • Contributes to the rest of Portfolio Analysis Team to optimize workflows
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, economics or another related field; or equivalent years of work experience
  • Preferred progress towards a CFA® designation or possession of a CFA® designation
  • Preferred 1-2 years of trading experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and other software related to business needs
  • Maintain a positive, solutions focused attitude
  • Be intellectually curious, respectful, and kind throughout all dimensions of the workplace
  • Ability to use good judgement and always keeps client information confidential
  • Deliver consistent excellent customer service to internal and external customers, colleagues and management
