Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Hotel Operations Supervisor
Job Summary: This position is responsible for greeting and receiving hotel guests, vehicle valet, handling luggage and packages, and providing general customer service duties for all guests with an emphasis on ensuring an exceptional beginning to end hotel stay experience. The incumbent provides guest relations services, responding to guests’ requests for transportation such as transport service, taxis, buses, etc.; ensures all guest luggage services and delivery are handled, provides general hotel and local tourist information, and assists guests with questions and concerns. The incumbent ensures that guests receive superior customer service and is expected to maintain hotel standards and follow policies and processes.
Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities:
The core, critical, and essential work duties, functions, and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
- Primarily responsible for receiving guest valet and vehicle, processing, and parking in the designated location, ensuring safety practices are followed and hotel policies are adhered to.
- Works closely with co-workers to provide greeting/valet/check-in (luggage) experience, and other guest deliveries, coordination of guest transportation, luggage delivery to rooms, and valet service.
- Ensures timely and accurate receipts and deliveries to guests.
- Provides exceptional services to guests, such as greetings, opening doors, offering assistance as needed, and ensuring all aspects of the lobby/reception areas reflect a superior guest experience.
- Assists and supports Guest Relations in additional concierge services, ensuring updated knowledge of local and tourist activities, makes appropriate suggestions for guests regarding local area activities and events.
- Effectively addresses guests’ complaints, handling and resolving concerns tactfully and courteously, ensuring quick resolution and guest satisfaction; documents and brings issues to the attention of the Supervisor as appropriate.
- Maintains professional working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and the general public.
- Conducts routine inspections of public spaces for cleanliness and exceptional appearance.
- Works with management and Security Guard(s) to address safety concerns and ensure the overall safety of guests, employees, and the general public.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Regular and routine attendance and punctuality are required.
- Availability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Requirements if Applicable:Position Requirements and Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- 2-3 years of work experience in Hotel/Hospitality as a Valet, Porter, Host, Concierge, Customer Service Representative, or in a Business-Related capacity.
- Demonstrated above-average knowledge of Hotel/Hospitality related operations.
- Basic computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Office products, Hotel Systems, and programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees, exercising tact and professionalism.
- Professional demeanor and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply strategic business logic while making sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
- Physical demands include speaking, hearing, seeing, standing for long periods, walking frequently, and using full reach and range of motion in arms and hands, with frequent lifting and carrying (up to 25 lbs.).
