Job summary

Janitronics Facility Services is seeking a Porter to perform daily cleaning and maintenance in facilities. Shifts run Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, at a rate of $17 per hour. The role includes customer service elements as it operates in client spaces.

Responsibilities include keeping areas clean, restocking supplies, handling trash, and adhering to safety policies. Prior janitorial experience and basic safety knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear protective equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Good organization and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors as needed.
• Resupply and restock supplies.
• Collect and dispose of trash in assigned areas.
• Follow company policies and procedures; maintain safety standards.
• Maintain safety and security standards and company programs.

Porters mainly perform comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of public areas within facilities. This service is generally performed while the customer is present and has an aspect of customer service involved.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floors as needed
• Resupply/restock and supplies as needed
• Collect and dispose of all trash in receptacles in assigned areas
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and established procedures
• Maintain company standards and programs for safety and security
• Maintain productivity levels at or above company standards with minimal supervision
• Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect
• Maintain good communication with your supervisor and other employees
• Communicate any needed supplies, repairs, safety concerns, and/or maintenance work needed to your supervisor
• Maintain the quality of performance of all specific duties and responsibilities assigned
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a janitorial or custodial role preferred
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe handling procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to traverse work site and transport equipment used for completing job functions
• Ability to position self to reach areas both below waist level to the floor and above their head
• Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers
• Ability to detect, observe, and inspect work areas to identify potential opportunities and concerns.
• Ability to transport up to 50lbs through work site as needed
• Ability to handle exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other potential irritants
• Must meet minimum age requirements
