Job summary

BrightView is seeking a Porter to perform site-level tasks at BrightView’s client sites. You will keep client premises clean, perform light landscaping, and assist the maintenance team with snow removal as applicable.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 40 lbs, and the stamina to work outdoors in varying weather. You may operate landscaping equipment and may drive a BrightView fleet vehicle.

• Must be at least 18 years old (21 if operating company provided vehicles).
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Keep client premises and branch grounds clean and orderly.
• Light landscaping and lawn maintenance tasks.
• Transport trash to disposal area and drive to designated areas with trash grabbers.
• Work with the maintenance team and assist with snow removal when applicable.
• Operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers) as needed.
• Repair and replace windows, screens, and sliding doors.
• Janitorial duties at the branch location when required.

Job Summary

• The Porter is responsible for executing site-level tasks on BrightView’s client sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Keep the premises of BrightView’s clients’ and branch grounds in clean and orderly condition
• Light landscaping
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area
• Demonstrate strong professionalism and integrity while representing BrightView
• Assist maintenance team with snow removal (as applicable)
• Physically walk the client site/branch property frequently and remove litter
• Clean and rake shrub areas; shovel mud when necessary
• Use a blower to keep sidewalks and walking areas clean of loose grass and brush.
• Repair and replace windows, screens, sliding glass doors, etc.
• Drive to designated areas in a vehicle and pick up trash with trash grabbers
• Janitorial services at the branch location when needed
• Other Duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• At least 18 years old (21 if operating company provided vehicles)
• Will require a valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs
• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
• Able to safely operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers)
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
• Able to perform manual labor using a variety of hand tools (e.g. shovels, rakes)
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Landscapers who will be operating a BrightView fleet vehicle are required to have a valid driver’s license and meet company standards as it relates motor vehicle performance identified on a state issued motor vehicle record check
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur

Work Environment:

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.

Compensation Pay Range:

18 - 22
