Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Porter.

Responsibilities:

• Perform foodservice functions including ordering supplies/food from vendors, receiving and verifying deliveries, stocking, filling requisitions, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness of storerooms, coolers, and freezers.
• Assist department with special projects and follow food safety and HACCP guidelines.

Schedule:

• Typically works Monday-Friday, 5:15 am-1:45 pm. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required based on department needs.

Qualifications:

• Experience in institutional or healthcare food service or inventory management is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and adapt to changes.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Serve Safe Certification and/or Food Manager Certification preferred, to be completed within six months.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months and every 3 years thereafter.
