Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Armonk, NY is seeking a dedicated Porter to keep the community clean, safe and welcoming for residents throughout the property. You will clean common areas, bathrooms, corridors, the parking area and assist with snow removal as needed, while engaging with residents and staff in a respectful, friendly manner.

Must be able to work at least one weekend day per week on a Tue–Sat or Sun–Thu schedule, and demonstrate an upbeat, reliable attitude with strong cleaning

Qualifications

• Be upbeat, friendly and courteous with residents, families and staff.
• Be consistent, reliable and thorough in cleaning practices.
• Excel at cleaning in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in restaurant, healthcare, hospital, hotel or hospitality is a plus.
• Prior experience with seniors is preferred.
• Must communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned common areas of the community per guidelines.
• Maintain bathrooms, function rooms, stairways, hallways, parking lot, sidewalks, windows, carpets and floors.
• Assist the Director of Housekeeping and support snow removal when needed.
• Provide friendly, courteous, professional service to residents and guests.

As a luxury assisted living community, we operate much like a high-end hotel. And that means delivering the ultimate experience in guest services and hospitality every day and in every way. We are seeking an experienced, responsible and well-mannered Porter to create and maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our residents throughout our community. You will be required to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our busy common areas, including bathrooms, function rooms, stairways, hallways, the parking lot, sidewalks, windows, carpets, floors and all other public areas, as required. You will often come into contact with residents, resident families, other guests and team members, and we expect you to maintain a friendly, courteous and positive attitude at all times, so that these encounters are always pleasant and professional. In this role you will be cleaning assigned common areas of the community in accordance with the guidelines established by the Director of Housekeeping and will assist the Director when and where needed. Special cleaning projects and assistance with snow removal as necessary may be required. The loving care, attention to detail and great customer service you bring to your responsibilities as a Porter are fundamental to the quality of life and the general wellbeing of our residents every day.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/qualifications

• An upbeat, friendly, pleasant and courteous demeanor when dealing with peers, supervisors, guests, residents and management
• Must be consistent, reliable and thorough with all cleaning practices
• Must excel in providing cleaning services in a fast-paced environment
• Experience providing cleaning services in the restaurant, healthcare, hospital, hotel, hospitality or similar industry is a plus
• Prior experience working with a senior population is preferred
• Must be able to communicate in English
