Job summary

Amberwoods of Farmington, a 130-bed skilled nursing facility in Farmington, CT, seeks a Porter to perform cleaning of hallways, common areas, and resident rooms. The role includes disinfecting high-touch areas, handling bulk trash, moving linen bags, and light maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a healthcare or hotel setting is preferred.
• Applicant must be positive, customer service oriented, hard working and driven to assure a clean building.

Responsibilities

• Porter is responsible to clean hallways and common area floors, disinfect high-touch areas and equipment, remove bulk trash and move linen bags, as well as routine special cleaning tasks.
• Participates in room changes and light/minimal maintenance tasks if needed.
• Housekeeper responsible for cleaning resident rooms and common areas per established routine and procedure.

Job description

Porter in a nursing facility, with ability to fill in as houskeeper when needed.

7 am to 3 pm with every other weekend. Potential for extra shifts.

Rate is $18.00 on weekdays and $19.80 on weekends. In addition we pay for lunch. Many places don't pay for half-hour lunch. So that equals to $19.20 weekdays and $21.12 on weekends, as compared to places that don't pay for lunch. Therefore the average weekly wage with paid lunch compares to 19.58.
