About The Job

We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Porter/Housekeeper Monday- Friday to join our team at Verrazano Nursing & Post-Acute Center. The Porter/Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall smooth operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Waxing, Buffering and Stripping floors.
• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to manufacturer’s instructions when necessary.
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.

Requirements:

• Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents based on their current maturity level.
• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and perform regular inspections for sanitation, safety, and order.
• Experience in Floor care required.
