Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking an Evening Courier for Surgical Services. The role transports and escorts patients to and from departments, delivers specimens and equipment, and assists clinical staff with safe transfer techniques.

Responsibilities include maintaining transportation equipment, handling mail and paperwork, and supporting other duties across the hospital. No prior experience required, but hospital exposure is preferred and BLS/CPR must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

Summary

Provides courier support services to the Pre- and Post- Operative Departments. Transports & escorts patients to and from hospital departments & treatment rooms using safe transfer techniques, assists clinical personnel in moving patients to and from beds, stretchers, tables, etc. Delivers specimens, equipment, schedules, etc. to all parts of the hospital, maintains transportation equipment in clean & safe condition. May be required to run errands outside the facility on occasion.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Valid Texas Drivers license preferred
• BLS/CPR certification must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English preferred
• Prefer hospital experience
