Job summary

Regency House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford, CT, seeks a Porter/Floor Technician on a per-diem basis. You’ll help create a clean, healing environment for residents and staff while learning about long-term care and career opportunities.

Responsibilities include waste disposal, teamwork to maintain safety and order, responding to housekeeping requests, and operating cleaning equipment. This role offers entry-level growth and learning opportunities within National Health Care

What You'll Do:

As a Porter/Floor Technician the clean, healing environment that you create will improve the comfort and well-being of our residents, guests and team. This entry-level position also offers a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn more about long-term care and its many career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispose of trash and waste
• Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe and organized environment
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines, vacuums, etc.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Porter/Floor Technician include:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention and safety measures in long-term care are highly valued but not required; training will be provided
