Job summary

People Restoring Communities seeks a dependable Porter to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. Under supervision, you will perform basic maintenance tasks and observe hazards, reporting issues promptly to keep common areas healthy.

Your duties include sweeping and spot-mopping stairwells, washing stairwells and lobby floors, removing garbage daily, cleaning cans after trash removal, setting out runners, and snow removal with rock salt as needed.

• Wash stairwells
• Sweep and mop lobby floors
• Dust vertical surfaces removing finger marks and smudges
• Remove all garbage from building on a daily basis, cleans compactor rooms
• Clean garbage cans immediately after trash removal
• Set out runners, clean and return to storage when not in use, as required.
• Snow Removal: Snow removal is conducted on an as needed basis. This process will also include rock salt placement.
• Recycling: Administer the recycling program as per the guidelines under the New York City Recycling Program.

Overview: Porter, under the direct supervision of the superintendent or Handyman, as required, is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the residents and employees of the complexes. The Porter will be required to perform basic maintenance tasks. The focus should be to observe and report any areas considered being a hindrance to providing healthy and safe environment for our tenants and their guests.
