Job summary

The Finger Companies is looking for a Porter to uphold the cleanliness and curb appeal of our Houston apartment community. You will service common areas, hallways, and outdoor spaces, manage trash removal, and assist with light maintenance to keep the property inviting for residents and visitors.

Ideal candidates will have prior property maintenance or grounds-keeping experience, physical stamina for the job, and a reliable, punctual work approach.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods).
• Previous maintenance or grounds-keeping experience is preferred.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of common areas, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
• Handle trash removal and basic maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform minor landscaping tasks such as leaf blowing and power washing.
• Keep trash and recycling areas clean and organized.
• Clean the community pool, pool area/grills and other outdoor spaces.
• Monitor for safety hazards and report issues to the Lead Maintenance.

Job description

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the apartment complex, including common areas, hallways, and outdoor spaces. The Porter also handles trash removal, light maintenance tasks, and ensures the property is well-kept and presentable for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance of common areas, including carpet cleaning, replacing light bulbs, trash collection.
• Minor landscaping- leaf blowing and power washing.
• Ensure trash and recycling areas are clean and organized.
• Clean community pool, pool area/grills and other outdoor spaces.
• Address minor repair requests and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
• Monitor the property for safety hazards and report any issues to the Lead Maintenance.

Requirements:

• Must be available to work alternating weekends.
• Previous experience in property maintenance, grounds keeping, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
