Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services is seeking a Porter to load and unload passenger baggage at the airport, using conveyors and equipment to move luggage safely while guiding passengers when needed. The role requires strong safety awareness and reliable attendance in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Responsibilities include organizing baggage, operating conveyors, and assisting with check-in or gate direction as necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Able to access and interpret information on print/electronic devices.
• Willing to work varied shifts including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload baggage safely and efficiently.
• Sort baggage on carts/conveyors; transport using carts.
• Transport oversized baggage or live animals as needed.
• Ensure continuous supply of baggage tubs and clear jams on conveyors.
• Lift, sort, and stack baggage when belts aren’t operating.
• Demonstrate PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Porter is responsible for loading and unloading passengers' luggage onto and off airplanes, utilizing conveyor systems and other machinery to transport baggage efficiently, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage, and may also assist with passenger check-in and directing them to departure gates while maintaining safety and security standards at the airport.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload baggage efficiently and safely

• Sort and organize baggage on designated carts, conveyors, or screening machines

• Transport baggage securely using carts in designated areas

• Safely transport oversized baggage or live animals as needed

• Ensure a continuous supply of baggage tubs for the baggage conveyor belts

• Clear any jams and remove debris on the baggage conveyor systems

• Lift, sort, and stack baggage when the belt system is not operational

• Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards

• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older

• Eligible to work in the United States

• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)

• One year of customer service experience

• Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location

• Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices

• Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means

• Pass a background check and drug screen

• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

• Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
