Job summary

Responsibilities

• Move, park, and organize vehicles on the lot and in service areas.
• Wash and vacuum vehicles to keep them presentable for customers and staff.
• Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out and maintain clean work areas.
• Drive vehicles to service and between lot locations as needed; fuel when required.
• Support technicians and service advisors with vehicle flow and customer pickup/drop-off.

Role Description

The Porter role is a full-time, on-site position based at Roy O'Brien Ford in St. Clair Shores, MI. The Porter is responsible for moving, parking, and organizing vehicles on the lot and in service areas, ensuring they are clean, presentable, and ready for customers and staff. Daily tasks include washing and vacuuming vehicles, assisting with vehicle check-in and check-out, and maintaining clean and orderly work areas such as service bays, parking lots, and customer areas. The role may also involve driving vehicles to and from service, fueling vehicles, supporting technicians and advisors with vehicle flow, and assisting customers with vehicle pick-up and drop-off as needed.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.


• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work on-site full time, including possible evenings or weekends as needed.


• Physical ability to stand, walk, and move vehicles throughout the day, and to work outdoors in various weather conditions.


• Previous experience in an automotive environment, dealership, or similar role is beneficial but not required.
