HELP USA is seeking a Porter to support one of its shelters for people experiencing homelessness. You will help provide residents a clean, well‑maintained space that feels like home during their stay, performing cleaning, painting, grounds work, and basic repairs as part of daily maintenance.
The role requires ability to operate small machinery and tools, with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior maintenance experience is helpful, and benefits include comprehensive health coverage and PTO.

As a Porter in one of HELP USA’s shelters for people experiencing homelessness, you’ll help provide our residents a clean and well‑maintained living space that feels as much like home as possible during their stay with us. Your daily responsibilities will include cleaning (sleeping areas, bathrooms, offices, windows, floors, grounds, etc.), garbage and trash removal, painting, landscaping, snow removal, minor repairs, and other maintenance‑related assignments.
Can operate small machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
Experience in maintenance.
Some basic knowledge of wiring, boilers, and plumbing.
Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state, and local laws.
