Job summary

YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood is seeking a full-time cleaning professional to manage sanitation and light maintenance duties throughout our facility. Successfully applicants must have a valid driver’s license Class D or higher, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position includes a pay rate of $20 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, ensuring a rewarding employment experience in a community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, and high‑traffic areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Perform light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and replacing air filters.

Requirements

• Driver’s License Class D, or higher.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Work Authorization & Clearance

• Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Must pass the background check and other pre‑employment requirements.

Schedule

• Full‑time; 8‑hour work day; 40‑hour work week.
• Sunday through Thursday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Compensation

• Paid at $20 per hour.
• Eligible for salary increases under the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
