Job summary

RiseBoro Community Partnership is hiring a Porter to maintain and clean our facilities in New York, NY. The role supports the Superintendent with building repairs and a wide range of daily and weekly cleaning tasks.

You will sweep and mop floors, spray buff and wax as needed, clean bathrooms, manage laundry and public spaces, handle snow and grounds upkeep, and ensure storage and common areas remain organized. Professional appearance and cooperation with staff are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with building cleaning and maintenance tasks as described.
• Ability to assist with repairs as needed by the Superintendent.
• Attention to detail in housekeeping and space organization.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop all floors daily; spray buff weekly; wax floors as needed.
• Clean bathrooms, laundry room, and public spaces; restock as required.
• Keep storage/utility rooms organized; manage trash and recycling daily.
• Assist with snow, sanding, salting, and other weather-related tasks.
• Ensure halls and common areas are free of obstructions and debris.
• Maintain cleanliness of parking lot, grounds, and graffiti removal as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Porter will perform a variety of building maintenance and cleaning tasks. The Porter will also assist the Superintendent with building repairs when needed. Responsibilities include:RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists the Super in the building where needed with the below described dutiesAll floors must be swept and mopped on a daily basisAll floors must be spray buffed on a weekly basisAll floors must be stripped and waxed as necessary, minimum of twice a yearAll stairs must be swept and mopped on a weekly basisAll bathrooms must be thoroughly cleaned and restocked dailyLaundry room must be thoroughly cleaned once per day, more if neededPublic space must be thoroughly cleaned once per day, more if neededAll glass should be cleaned on a daily basis including lobby and management areaAll storage, utility, and work rooms must be kept clean and organizedShoveling of snow, sanding, salting, and scraping will be done as the weather demandsAll trash and recycling is to be readied for pick-up on the scheduled days. The building will be cleaned of all debris in all common areas including the grounds. The halls/common areas must be free from any obstruction (garbage, furniture, etc.).The compactor room must be kept clean and organized at all timesThe recycling rooms must be kept clean and organized at all timesAll Graffiti will be cleaned from all surfaces as it appears (within 24 hours during the week and by the first Monday if it appears on the weekend.The parking lot and grounds will be maintained once per dayAll trash is to be removed from the parking lot and grounds on a daily basisThe parking lot must be swept on a weekly basisThe grass shall be maintainedFertilizer, week killer, and seeding is to be applied as necessaryPruning of trees and shrubs is to be done as necessaryOther duties as assignedAppearance: The Porter is a visible staff member of RiseBoro Community Partnership (RB) and must conduct himself/herself in a professional manner and exhibit a professional appearance.
