Job summary

RMS Companies in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Porter to perform daily cleaning of common areas at the Scribe building. You will assist in maintaining a clean and welcoming residence environment under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent.

The role requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals who can lift up to 50 lbs and work at least one weekend day, contributing to a tidy, safe, and pleasant living space for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or maintenance roles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Must be able to work at least one weekend day.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of all common areas; dust, sweep, wet mop, vacuum, and empty garbage.
• Report notable concerns such as vandalism, missing light bulbs or fixtures, and missing smoke detectors or extinguishers in the common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Keep the property and parking lots neat and orderly.
• Perform building walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs.
• Keep accurate and organized supplies and supply lists.
• Accurately record and report their own time.
• Respond to cleaning requests as directed by the Property Manager or Assistant Property Manager when the Maintenance Superintendent is unavailable.
• Communicate work requested and work executed to the Maintenance Superintendent.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Porter is responsible for performing all regular cleaning activities at our new residential building called Scribe in Norwalk, CT. This includes removing debris, maintaining common areas, restocking bathrooms, and more. This position impacts our residents by ensuring all common areas in the building are in excellent condition. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily cleaning of all common areas; dust, sweep, wet mop, vacuum, and empty garbage

• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Candidate will be required to work at least one weekend day
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
