The Porter is responsible for keeping the appearance of the property in excellent condition, both inside and out.

The ideal candidate can handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, while also delivering a high level of customer service.

Porter compensation: $17-$18/hr

Porter Primary Responsibilities:

• Upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and leasing office, parking lots
• Walk, inspect, clean and maintain pristine cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, garage, stairways, and other common areas including washing, dusting, polishing, etc..
• Maintain common area floors including: wash and wax hard surface flooring, vacuuming/washing carpets and rugs, cleaning tile grout, etc..
• Maintaining, washing, cleaning common area walls, windows, and doors
• Managing the appropriate level of sanitation and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
• Empty all trash receptacles and transport trash to the disposal area; use of trash compactor
• Walking and picking up debris, cleaning of trash enclosures.
• Cleans restrooms: Sweeps and mops floors. Refills all dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper & hand soap. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors & counters
• Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment including but not limited to trash compactor, pressure washer, paint sprayer, auger, motorized vehicle
• General turn-key work as needed
• Maintain customer service standards. Respond to resident requests and work with residents to minimize/resolve problems and complaints. Follow-through to ensure issue is resolved
• Maintain the required property uniform ensuring a professional appearance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Porters must be able to meet these physical demands:
The position is considered to have moderate to heavy physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to climb up to nine feet on ladders, work in overhead structures, walk, stand, twist, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel at least 90% of the workday. The employee will occasionally be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 100 pounds and frequently be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 50 pounds during the normal course of a workday.

Work Environment:
Over 90% of the Porter’s time will be spent working in a residential housing environment. Porter will be exposed to variety of weather conditions common to the local climate. Porter may be required to wear protective headgear, eyewear, ear protection and other personal protective equipment as project conditions warrant.
