Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled technician/apprentice to join our Richmond team in the fire and life safety field. You will work independently on tasks, manage responsibilities, and apply knowledge of portable fire protection equipment and codes.

A clean driving record is required if the role involves driving. The position offers hourly pay between $23 and $26, plus a signing bonus and comprehensive benefits including health, vision, dental, life insurance, disability, a 401(k)

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong understanding of portable fire protection equipment and applicable codes.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).
• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.

• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.

Compensation

$23-$26 per hour depending on industry experience. Sign on bonus: $1000K
