Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Richmond, VA is looking for a skilled technician to perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment. You will work independently, manage assigned tasks, and ensure compliance with applicable codes; requires clean driving record and active driver's license if driving role.

Compensation ranges from $23 to $26 per hour with a sign-on bonus; benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, paid

• 1 plus years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong understanding of portable fire protection equipment and applicable codes.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• 1 plus years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.

• Strong understanding of portable fire protection equipment and applicable codes.

• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).

Other Duties:

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.

Compensation:

$23-$26 per hour depending on industry experience.

Sign on bonus: $1000K
