Qualifications

  • Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school)
  • Minimum of 6 months experience
  • ARDMS registration or ARDMS eligibility with completion within 1 year
  • American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of start date

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound studies on various organs and record images for diagnosis
  • Conduct portable ultrasound exams in inpatient units, clinics, ED, and OR as needed
  • Ensure proper patient identification, image labeling, PACS interfacing and data entry
  • Assist with contrast administration under radiologist supervision and monitor for reactions
  • Screen patients for contraindications and ensure safety during imaging procedures
  • Maintain and report on ultrasound equipment function and safety
  • Collaborate effectively with team and contribute to continuous quality improvement
  • Assist with training of new staff and students; be prepared for essential staffing during weather events and on-call duties
