Job summary

U-Haul in Traverse City, MI seeks a U-Box Customer Care Driver to load, transport, and deliver storage containers on local routes. This role combines customer service with hands-on vehicle operation, requiring a CDL and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate an 8000-lb forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers to local destinations (homes/businesses).
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck (training provided).
• Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g., customers’ homes and businesses – local routes only.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
