Job summary

U-Haul Company is seeking a U-Box Customer Care Driver to deliver storage containers on local routes and provide friendly, courteous service to customers. Training is provided for vehicle and forklift operation, with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.

The role may require DOT certification, a CDL, and the ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs, with a focus on reliability and customer-first service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Department of Transportation certification or enrollment is required.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck (training provided).
• Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport containers to/from customers' homes and businesses (local routes).
• Participate in U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities:

• Operate a flatbed truck (training provided).
• Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g., customers' homes and businesses - local routes only.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
• Clean motor vehicle driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Department of Transportation certification
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Must be 18 or older

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
