Job summary

Sodexo at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC is hiring a Portable Equipment (PEMS) Technician to ensure availability, maintenance, and compliance of portable medical devices across patient care areas. Working with clinical staff, you will support equipment needs safely and efficiently.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and experience in hospital inpatient areas, with open shift availability and full-time employment. Training and benefits accompany the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documentation on transported equipment and inventory updates.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as required.

Pay Range: $17.00 per hour - $17.00 per hour

What You’ll Do:

As a Portable Equipment (PEMS) Technician at Sodexo, you will ensure the availability, maintenance, and compliance of specialized medical devices. You will play a key role in supporting patient care across healthcare facilities by working closely with clinical staff to meet equipment needs efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities include:

• Partner with nursing teams to establish par levels and meet requirements for portable medical devices, such as beds, infusion pumps, pillow speakers, and wound vacuum-assisted closure devices (wound vacs).
• Inspect and clean all devices in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, utilizing Instructions for Use (IFUs) and operator manuals to ensure safety and compliance.
• Execute daily rounds to monitor and meet the specialized equipment needs of patients. Maintaining equipment logs as required.
• Manage specialized inventory activities, such as portable medical device (PMD) compliance, using Sodexo’s proprietary computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software.
• Prepare documentation on transported equipment, inventory updates (e.g. location, cleaned), conducted operator performance checks, or validated service vendor PMD compliance.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
