Carver Companies Payroll LLC is seeking a Port Foreman B to supervise daily port operations at the Coeymans, NY facility. You will manage equipment operators, riggers, and labor crews, ensuring safe, efficient cargo handling and adherence to safety protocols.

You will assist with port equipment setup and inspections, monitor workflows, and coordinate with Foreman A and the Operations Manager. Leadership, clear communication, and problem-solving are essential in this role.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in port operations, marine terminals, logistics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience managing dock crews or material handling operations.
• Strong knowledge of port equipment, cargo handling procedures, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret operational plans, cargo manifests, and equipment documentation.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational demands.

Aufgaben

• Supervise daily port operations, including equipment operators, riggers, and labor crews.
• Assist with the setup, inspection, and safe operation of port equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and material handling machinery.
• Ensure all cargo handling and operational activities comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and established safety protocols.
• Monitor workflow and adjust operations as needed to maintain efficiency and meet production goals.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or operational delays to Foreman A or the Operations Manager.
• Train, mentor, and support crew members on operational procedures and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections.
• Communicate effectively with Foreman A, vessel personnel, and terminal staff regarding operational progress and issues.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and operational adjustments to support continuous operations.
• Serve as the acting team lead in the absence of Foreman A, ensuring continuity of operations and appropriate oversight of assigned crews.
• Develop and manage crew schedules based on vessel arrival schedules, cargo types, and operational demands.
• Review and approve employee timekeeping, ensuring accuracy and timely payroll submission.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager and Human Resources regarding staffing needs, attendance, and scheduling adjustments.
• Maintain organized and accurate records of timekeeping, attendance, and payroll documentation to support compliance and reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
