Job summary

Enstructure New Haven is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in New Haven, CT. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, forklifts, and pay haulers in a busy port setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills, maintain safety standards, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in hydraulic system repair.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel engine maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs, climb heavy equipment, bend, kneel, and work overhead.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform equipment overhauls and component replacements.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Collaborate with team members to support operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
