Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in stevedoring or port operations.
• 1+ year supervisory or lead experience in crane or cargo handling.
• Ability to read lifting plans, load charts, and cargo docs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily cargo operations for crane crews, riggers, and laborers.
• Assist with setup, inspection, and safe operation of cranes and lifting equipment.
• Ensure cargo handling aligns with load charts, lifting plans, and vessel requirements.
• Coordinate across multiple sites and travel as needed.
• Monitor workflow and adjust for productivity and efficiency.
• Identify equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or delays; report to leadership.
• Train and mentor crew on crane operation, rigging, and safety procedures.
• Maintain records of work performed, inspections, and safety activities.
• Communicate progress and issues to vessel personnel and leadership.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of ship’s gear equipment.
• Support payroll timekeeping and crew scheduling accuracy.
