Job summary

Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta seeks a highly analytical Epidemiologist/Data Scientist to lead population health research within the Solve Sickle Cell Initiative. You will design studies, analyze epidemiologic data, and support translating research findings into improved care across hospital and community settings.

You will collaborate with MSM, Emory, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, contribute to grant applications, publish results, and help build a bidirectional research program

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
• Familiarity with public health systems, health policy, and healthcare delivery systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Solve Sickle Cell Initiative data science and epidemiology efforts.
• Design and conduct population-based epidemiologic and health services research addressing sickle cell disease outcomes.
• Participate in clinical trials and translational research activities.
• Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze clinical, claims, registry, and EHR data to evaluate care patterns and disparities.
• Develop and evaluate interventions to improve screening, care coordination, and long-term outcomes.
• Lead and contribute to extramural grant applications as PI/Co-I/site lead.
