Job summary

Starwood Hotels is seeking a Pool Bartender in Austin to craft classic and creative beverages while engaging guests and ensuring a memorable experience. You will study the menu, recommend drinks, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced pool bar setting.

Required are bartending experience, strong English communication, and the ability to multitask, stand for long periods, and lift items. A Food Handling certification is a plus and flexibility for varied shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Prior bartending experience.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment).
• Willingness to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends in a 24-hour operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of the full drink menu and make recommendations.
• Craft cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages with precision and flair.
• Provide warm, personalized guest interactions and tailor drinks to preferences.
• Take and fulfill drink orders promptly with attention to presentation.
• Stay knowledgeable about classic and contemporary mixology trends.
• Keep the bar area clean, sanitized, and well stocked; follow safety protocols.
• Follow hotel safety, security, and dress code policies; attend training sessions.
