Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 2 (1 year fixed term) to assist in developing and deploying a pooled cell engineering platform using single-cell genomics and high-throughput gene delivery for Stanford Medicine Catalyst.

You will collaborate with researchers on cutting-edge single-cell biology, construct and sequence libraries, isolate immune cells from human blood products, and contribute to data-driven research and publications presented at conferences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers on the cutting edge of single-cell biology and cell engineering to develop a therapeutic screening platform.
• Work with team members in construction and sequencing of single-cell transcriptomic and epigenetic libraries.
• Conduct lab experiments involving isolation and culture of immune cells from primary human blood products.
• Transform and grow bacterial stocks for the purpose of isolating recombinant plasmid DNA.
• Perform complex lab experiments to gather data for a portion of an innovative and novel combinatorial screening project.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams across different faculties or schools.
• Perform ongoing literature reviews to remain current with new procedures and apply to ongoing research and development of new protocols.
• Contribute substantively to the preparation of papers for publication, especially in the results section, and to publication of findings. Present ongoing work to colleagues and/or academic conferences.
