Job summary

Best Western Yellowstone Crossing in Laurel, MT is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks to keep the hotel and grounds in excellent condition, including safe operation of the pool and hot tub.

You will test pool chemistry, handle chemicals, perform routine repairs in guest rooms and public areas, and respond to work orders while maintaining logs and complying with health and safety codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in general maintenance or handyman work; pool/spa maintenance is a significant advantage.
• Certification: pool operator certification (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine pool and spa water testing and chemical balancing.
• Maintain pool and hot tub equipment, backwash filters, monitor pump/motor function.
• Complete basic repairs in guest rooms and public areas (patching, painting, light carpentry).
• Respond to maintenance work orders and guest requests.
• Follow a scheduled preventative maintenance program for guest rooms and public areas.
• Inspect HVAC components (clean coils, replace filters).
• Ensure pool and spa operations comply with health regulations and safety codes.
• Conduct safety tours to identify hazards.
