Job summary

Poolie in Texas is hiring a Pool Maintenance Technician to keep residential and commercial pools clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will handle daily routes, balance chemistry, and perform basic equipment care to ensure top service.

Ideal candidates have pool service experience, knowledge of water chemistry, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. A valid driver's license and physical ability to lift 50 lbs are required for this full-time role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in pool service or outdoor maintenance.
• Working knowledge of pool water chemistry and balancing chemicals.
• Understanding of pool circulation systems including pumps and filters.
• Valid driver's license with authority to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Service a daily route of residential and commercial pools (50–60 per week).
• Skim, vacuum, brush, and clean pool surfaces and floors.
• Test and balance water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity).
• Maintain filters, pumps, and basic equipment.
• Inspect and confirm function of pool equipment and assist with minor repairs.
• Report major issues to Supervisor and aid in troubleshooting.
• Greet customers professionally and provide updates on service performed.

Schedule

• Full-time flexible: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Earlier start and finish times available if .

What You’ll Do

As a Pool Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping our customers’ pools clean, safe, and functioning at their best. This includes:

Pool Maintenance & Equipment Care

• Service a daily route of residential and/or commercial pools (50–60 per week)
• Skim, vacuum, brush, and clean pool surfaces and floors
• Test and balance water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.)
• Maintain filters, pumps, baskets, and other basic equipment
• Inspect and confirm the function of pool equipment (heaters, lights, motors, etc.)
• Diagnose and perform minor repairs (bags, baskets, o-rings)
• Report major issues to your Supervisor and assist with troubleshooting

Customer Service & Communication

• Greet customers professionally and answer basic pool care questions
• Provide updates on service performed and note any recommendations
• Educate customers on basic maintenance practices to keep their pool in top condition

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals and equipment
• Use proper protective gear (goggles, gloves, etc.)
• Maintain compliance with company and industry standards

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

• Previous experience in pool service or outdoor maintenance
• Working knowledge of pool water chemistry (testing, balancing, common treatments)
• Understanding of pool circulation systems (pumps, filters, heaters, valves)
• Valid driver’s license with authorization to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive movement

Nice-to-Haves:

• Ability to diagnose common pool equipment issues and identify needed repairs
• Familiarity with routine pool maintenance procedures (cleaning, inspections, preventative care)
• CPO license
