Job summary

South Seas, located on Captiva Island, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking Restaurant Servers to join our guest‑focused team. This role offers 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $12 plus tip opportunities, in a vibrant waterfront setting with stunning views of Pine Island Sound.

Applicants should be at least 18, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to stand for long periods in a fast-paced resort environment.

  • Fluent in English, able to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced hospitality environments.
  • Strong multitasking and customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve guests in accordance with South Seas standards.
  • Take guest orders, communicate with kitchen and bar teams; ensure timely service.
  • Set tables and stations, maintain cleanliness and proper food handling.
  • Provide attentive, friendly service and handle guest requests promptly.

Live Music and Weekly Special Events create the vibe for this venue.Restaurant Servers will greet and serve guests in accordance with South Seas standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and sanitation, and in a gracious and professional manner.RATE OF PAY fulltime, hourly $12.00 per hour plus the opportunity to make tipsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform direct communication and hospitality procedures with all guests daily.Pre-shifts with fellow staff and management for all restaurant operations.Properly set all tables and stations; follow appropriate set-up checklist; take guest orders.Serve all food and beverage items in a timely manner.Proper treatment and storage of food and company equipment.Complete daily shift operation report.Communicate all special guest requests to kitchen.Detail every table and menu before each meal period.Assist with bussing tables "pre-bussing"Must have understanding on how to read and execute a Restaurant BEO form.Possess thorough food, wine and cocktail menu knowledge.Exercise a positive attitude and warm hospitality image.Follow associate schedule and work assignments.Perform other duties as requested by management.POSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation: High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field is preferredExperience: 6 months experience with a background with serving, basic bartending, cashiering is a plusRequired:Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completedMust be 18 years old or older to hold this role, serving/selling alcohol in state of FLAlcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations - can receive with South Seas)Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations - can receive with South Seas)What are we looking for?SKILLS AND ABILITIESFluent in English language, must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English; other languages valuable.This position holds multiple job functions at once, a great multitasker.Must show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations – fast paced environment.Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns or issues raised by coworkers and/or guests.Teamwork is essential and critical in this role.Impeccable standards of appearance and grooming.Maintains proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.WORKING CONDITIONS - PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSPosition requires you to be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.Must be able work in different types of extreme weather, including high temperatures.Position will be required to work indoors and outside.HOURS REQUIRED 40 hours per week, flexible schedule, will be required to work weekends and/or holidays.Our company (“Company”) fully subscribes to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
