What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule patient appointments for various procedures and treatments, ensuring accuracy of demographic and insurance information
- Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system within a call center environment
- Meet individual quality metrics and departmental KPIs to ensure service excellence
- Assist in departmental initiatives, including training and onboarding new team members
- Participate in committees to champion opportunities for process improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- For internal candidates: At least 1 year of Patient Access experience with proven ability to perform all job functions independently
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate self-motivation
- For external candidates: Associate's Degree preferred with 1 year of Patient Access experience, or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Detail-oriented with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare compliance
- Familiarity with insurance contracts, scheduling protocols, and EMR applications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
